- The "-vesaskip n" command-line parameter was added by Bernd Wiebelt, creating a 640x480 faux-scanline with a visible area that can be scrolled with the PGUP and PGDOWN keys.
- MAME's ROM loading functions were made to print out a full list of all of the ROMs needed for a given set if one of them is missing. Also, an explanation of what ROMs are were added.
